Job summary

Velera is seeking a Risk Prevention Analyst to develop and implement fraud strategies using transaction data, ML models, and advanced analytics. You will monitor fraud exposure, optimize risk controls, and coordinate with FDWC, Velera teams and external vendors.

You will write rules, build client-specific solutions, analyze trends, and present actionable insights to senior leadership. Strong SQL, analytics and communication skills are required in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or combination of education and experience.
• Five+ years in financial services is required.
• Three+ years in risk analytics, mitigating risk or fraud services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fraud strategies using transaction data and ML models.
• Manage and optimize fraud risk strategies and monitor customer impact.
• Create internal procedures changes to improve efficiency.
• Lead BI reporting for senior leadership and examiners.
• Collaborate with Fraud Operations, Risk Management, Product, Retail, Finance and external vendors.
