Job summary

Velera is seeking a Senior Risk Prevention Analyst for an overnight shift to assess operational and technical risk using fraud tools, analytics, and AI. You'll support fraud detection, create rules, monitor portfolios, and provide client and internal support across the FDWC ecosystem.

You'll develop fraud strategies from transaction data, tune rules, and produce BI reports for leadership. The role requires overnight availability Monday–Friday, 10:00 PM–7:00 AM ET, and strong SQL skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years in financial services risk analytics or fraud mitigation.
• Experience with FDWC and/or FDR systems required.
• Experience with fraud detection strategies, rules tuning, and modeling.
• Strong SQL and ability to analyze large data sets.
• Excellent communication of technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop fraud strategies using transaction data, ML, and analytics.
• Manage and optimize fraud strategies balancing risk and customer experience.
• Coordinate Risk Analytics tasks, projects, SLAs and output quality.
• Resolve complex escalations from calls and internal partners.
• Create BI reporting for senior leadership, boards, and examiners.
• Present recommendations clearly to stakeholders and management.
