Job summary

Carter Lumber Company in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Framing Field Supervisor to manage framing for single and multi-family homes according to blueprints and contracts. A strong commitment to customer service and to upholding safety and quality standards is essential.

You will oversee material needs, coordinate deliveries, and ensure work complies with OSHA and Carter Lumber policies. The role combines field leadership with hands-on framing to deliver timely, high-quality results.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years experience in residential or light commercial framing.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of building materials and tools.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work under time constraints.
• Strong math skills.
• Ability to follow directions both written and verbal.
• Ability to analyze and provide recommendations to solve problems.
• Knowledgeable in scheduling programs Builder Trend, Build Pro, Supply Pro.

Responsibilities

• Analyze jobsite prior to beginning of the job to ensure that quality construction can be done.
• Review construction documents and understand material needed to build.
• Frames buildings according to blueprint.
• Create and support a safe work environment on the job site to protect the interest of the company at all times.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure that the material is delivered and that the labor broker receives a copy of the plans.
• Schedule the delivery according to the builder's Construction Manager schedule and ensure that the material is delivered.
• Once the framing has started, the Framing Manager must ensure that the laborers frame in compliance with OSHA, builders and Carter Lumber standards and rules, including cleanliness and safety.
• Ensures that the project is completed in a timely manner.
• Customer service: ensure customers are given the highest quality of workmanship.
• This is accomplished through timely completion of the job, attention to detail, following the company's code of conduct and the ability to react to problems and complaints in a patient and understanding manner.
• Knowledge & Training: Responsible for acquiring the training needed to build the product safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for becoming certified in the product/area that is being installed to ensure that we are providing the best service to our customers.
