Job summary

Carter Lumber in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Framing Field Supervisor to manage framing for single and multi-family homes according to blueprints and contracts. Knowledge of materials, codes and installation techniques is essential, as is a strong commitment to customer service.

You will read blueprints, supervise crews, coordinate material deliveries, and ensure OSHA-compliant framing with timely completion. Requires 3–4 years framing experience and problem-solving ability.

Qualifications

• 3–4 yrs experience in residential or light commercial framing.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand material requirements.
• Knowledge of building materials and tools.
• Capable of meeting deadlines under time constraints.
• Strong math skills and ability to follow written/verbal directions.
• Ability to analyze problems and provide solutions.
• Familiarity with scheduling programs Builder Trend, Build Pro and Supply Pro.

Responsibilities

• Analyze jobsite prior to start to ensure quality construction.
• Review construction documents and determine material needs.
• Frame buildings according to blueprints.
• Create a safe on-site environment and protect company interests.
• Coordinate with team to ensure material delivery and plan sharing.
• Schedule deliveries per construction manager schedule and ensure timely material arrival.
• Ensure framing complies with OSHA and Carter Lumber standards, including safety and cleanliness.
• Ensure project is completed in a timely manner.
• Provide high-quality workmanship and responsive customer service.
