Job summary

Carter Lumber seeks a Framing Field Supervisor to manage framing for single and multi-family homes per blueprints and customer contracts. Knowledge of building materials, local codes, and installation techniques, plus a strong customer-service focus, are essential.

The role requires coordinating with teams to ensure material delivery and labor alignment, while maintaining safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years experience in residential or light commercial construction, primarily framing.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret construction documents.
• Strong knowledge of building materials and tools.
• Ability to work under time constraints with a strong work ethic.
• Good math skills for measurements and estimations.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions.
• Familiarity with scheduling programs such as Builder Trend, Build Pro and Supply Pro.

Responsibilities

• Analyze jobsite prior to starting to ensure quality construction.
• Review construction documents and determine materials needed.
• Frame buildings according to blueprints.
• Create and maintain a safe on-site environment.
• Coordinate material delivery and share plans with labor brokers.
• Schedule deliveries aligned with the Construction Manager’s calendar.
• Ensure framing complies with OSHA, Carter Lumber standards, and safety rules.
• Ensure timely project completion.
• Maintain high quality workmanship for customers.
• Respond to issues and inquiries with professionalism.
