Job summary

Candidates should have 3+ years in a high-volume manufacturing environment, and a high school diploma or GED. Experience with hollow metal fabrication and safety PPE is preferred, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years manufacturing experience in a high volume, fast paced production environment.
• Metalworking / Hollow Metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Dexterous with manufacturing equipment, basic power tools and machinery.
• Ability to read and understand engineering documents and shop travelers.
• Ability to layout and load materials using basic math and handheld measuring tools.
• Knowledge of welding tool operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge and application of unique safety requirements for welding.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding tools and maintain continuous workflow through adherence of documented processes.
• Assist with daily PM schedule for machine, manuals and procedures.
• Perform first part inspections as well as in-process quality checks.
• Ensure the machine is always running.
• Communicate any issues that prevent product flow.
• Embrace cross-training culture and willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.
• Do daily housekeeping to ensure the work area is always clean and organized.

This position is focused on getting the job done right the first time by placing a high emphasis on quality of workmanship, accountability, safety, and teamwork.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Support all continuous improvements in safety, quality, 5S and existing manufacturing processes.Provide feedback to leadership to help resolve quality issues or operational improvements in regards to productivity and procedural changes.Ensure the machine is always running.Communicate any issues that prevent product flow.Know and abide to all company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.· Embrace the cross-training culture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.Do daily housekeeping to ensure the work area is always clean and organized.Flexible schedule is required in regard to overtime and start time according to work volumes.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Set up and operate welding tools and maintain continuous workflow through adherence of documented processes.Assist with daily PM schedule for machine, manuals and procedures.Perform first part inspections as well as in-process quality checks.REQUIRED SKILLS:Ability to read and understand engineering documents and shop travelers.Ability to layout and load materials using basic math and handheld measuring tools.Knowledge of welding tool operation and maintenance.Knowledge and application of unique safety requirements for welding.Ability to perform both manual and machine welding techniques.Understanding of finished product characteristics.Physical Demands:Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and grasp 50 pounds.Dexterous with both hands.Ability to frequently perform work while in a bended, kneeled, stooped, or squatted position.Ability to stand for extended periods.Work Environment:· Fast paced custom metal manufacturing environment.· High noise levels.· Contact with metals, lubricants, and welding gases.· Exposure to moving objects such as machinery, mechanical parts, forklifts, and carts.· Exposure to hot or cold temperature when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED.3+ years manufacturing experience in a high volume, fast paced production environment.Metalworking / Hollow Metal fabrication experience preferred.Dexterous with manufacturing equipment, basic power tools and machineryCompensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.The expected Base Hourly Range: $20.00-24.00 per hour.
