Job summary

Allegion is seeking a 3rd shift Industrial Technician to ensure production equipment and facilities run smoothly. You will diagnose, repair, rebuild, and align machinery, with responsibilities spanning installation, relocation, and leading small projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualified candidates have mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge, welding skills, and the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of mechanics, machines design, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read machine design drawings, specifications and formulas.
• Ability to use and read precision instruments.
• Knowledge of welding (arc, gas, MIG).
• Baseline electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose machine malfunctions and perform repairs to keep production running.
• Assist to rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components.
• Fit and align bearings, spindles, shafts, and related mechanisms.
• Assist with installation and relocation of equipment, dismantling and aligning.
• Act as project leader, determine materials and resources needed.
• Check work of subordinate technicians and helpers.

We are looking for 3rd shift Industrial Technicians! Allegion Steelcraft is a major manufacturer of Steel Frames & Doors. As an Industrial Technician you will play a key role in ensuring the equipment and manufacturing facility are running efficiently! Supporting one of our Value Streams, Frames or Doors, you will be responsible for routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment, facilities and/or systems to ensure proper function within specifications. Hours: 10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Pay: $29.26 plus shift differential

What You Will Do:

• Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties, effect repairs, and adjustments either temporary to keep machine in production or, if required and feasible, effect permanent repairs
• Assist to rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments
• Perform fitting and aligning of bearings, spindles, and shafts, and adjustments of feeding and limit mechanisms, gibs and ways
• Assist with the installation of new and the relocation of existing equipment including: dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting, and aligning operations
• Act as a project leader, determine materials and resources needed to complete task.
• Check work of subordinate technicians and helpers

What You Need to Succeed:

• Requires a general knowledge of mechanics, machines design, electrical and hydraulic systems
• Ability to work from machine design drawings, specifications, and handbook formulas
• Ability to use and read precision instruments
• Must have knowledge of welding, using arc, gas, mig, etc
• Ability to perform baseline electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Ability to communicate well with others
• Must be willing to take a respirator fit test and CPR/First Aid training
