Job summary

Harbinger Motors Inc. is seeking a Design Release Engineer, Frame, to own the 3D CAD modeling, packaging, and integration of frame structures for a next‑gen EV platform in Garden Grove, CA.

You will manage supplier relationships, drive DFMs, and own ECO/ECR processes while coordinating with CAE/FEA and validation teams to ensure durability and quality across prototype builds and SOP milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in structural, chassis, or frame engineering design within automotive/commercial vehicle/aerospace industries.
• Strong working knowledge of CATIA V5/V6 and PLM/BOM management tools (e.g., Teamcenter, Enovia, Arena, or similar).
• Solid understanding of structural mechanics, materials, GD&T, and automotive manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3D CAD modeling, packaging, and integration of frame structures, ensuring optimal stiffness and packaging clearance for high‑voltage battery packs and payloads.
• Serve as primary technical contact for frame component suppliers, guide DFM challenges, ensure quality and corrosion standards.
• Manage end‑to‑end lifecycle of frame hardware, including ECOs/ECRs and BOM tracking in PLM.
• Collaborate with CAE/FEA and validation teams for durability testing and root‑cause analysis.
• Develop and drive aggressive project schedules for tooling and fixtures to meet SOP.
• Lead cross‑functional reviews with High/Low Voltage, Powertrain, Thermal, and Manufacturing teams.
