Job summary

NV5 is seeking an Engineer - Fracture Mechanics SME to provide on-site support for field inspections, condition assessments, and repair/replacement recommendations across design, materials, mechanical, or structural engineering specializations.

You will coordinate with repair shops, suppliers, and project teams to develop long-range plans for gas turbines, while mentoring peers and contributing to safety, quality, and environmental compliance. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 9-15 years of experience in a specialized field (Design, Materials, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Masters or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Grow fracture mechanics and integrity engineering revenue through new and existing oil and gas clients.
• Own client relationships with operators, PRCI members, and integrity teams, including technical scoping, proposals, and follow-on work.
• Lead fitness-for-service and engineering critical assessments of cracks, dents, corrosion, and their interactions (API 579/ASME FFS-1, API 1183).
• Assess crack-like features such as SCC, seam weld and girth weld flaws, and fatigue cracks.
• Author and review client deliverables, and present findings to operators, regulators, and at industry forums.
• Collect information from clients, prepare project scopes and plans and deliver cost estimates.
• Conduct studies and generate observations and data as required by project plan.
• Develop draft reports and work with the Technical Experts as needed to finalize for client delivery.
• Deliver exceptional professional customer service with various industrial companies, internal and external stakeholders, etc.
• Other work duties as assigned.
