Job summary

Framatome in Cranberry Township, PA, is seeking a Fracture Mechanics Engineer to perform structural and fracture analyses for the nuclear sector using FE methods and hand calculations. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in fracture/mechanics or nuclear engineering.
  • Familiarity with ASME B&PV Code Section XI and nuclear industry analyses.
  • Experience in fracture mechanics, structural integrity, stress analysis, fatigue, or materials engineering.
  • Knowledge of ANSYS; ABAQUS is an asset.
  • Experience with analytical and numerical tools (FEM, MathCAD, Python, Excel calculations).
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to document technically.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-standard engineering analyses including design, development, evaluation, testing, and field problem resolution.
  • Work autonomously with minimal direction; ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Apply diverse technical techniques and criteria; adapt tasks as needed.
  • Develop knowledge of processes and customers; participate in special projects.
  • Suggest process improvements and maintain safety mindset.
