Job summary

Framatome North America seeks a highly skilled engineer to perform structural and fracture analyses for the nuclear industry, using FE methods and hand calculations. You will evaluate weld residual stresses, crack growth life, and critical sizes, with applications to commercial plants and risk assessments.

The role requires a mechanical or materials science background, 3+ years of related experience, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of ASME B&PV Code Section XI preferred.
  • Experience with finite element analyses.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs non-standard engineering assignments across design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, and field tasks.
  • Works autonomously with minimal instruction.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Applies diverse technical techniques and criteria to new tasks.
  • Develops knowledge of processes and customers.
  • Contributes to process improvements and safety culture.
