Job summary

Edison Welding Institute, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to lead externally funded and internal R&D projects focused on advancing materials science and fracture mechanics.

You will engage with high-value customers, identify opportunities, and deliver proposals that articulate strong technical value. Responsibilities include serving as a technical liaison, promoting capabilities through publications, and maintaining a robust project pipeline while ensuring high-quality client

Qualifications

• B.S. in Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy or related field.
• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) preferred.
• Strong foundation in fracture mechanics and environmental effects on material performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop externally funded and internal R&D projects to drive technology innovation.
• Lead technical dialogue with key accounts to identify and mature opportunities.
• Write proposals meeting clients' technical needs with clear value propositions.
• Serve as technical liaison for accounts in your area of expertise.
• Promote EWI's capabilities via publications, conferences, and marketing content.
