Shaper Capital is building a CFO-in-Residence program to identify and cultivate the next wave of finance leaders for its portfolio. This is a fractional, high-impact role with potential to advance into full-time Head of Finance or CFO positions as mutual fit emerges.

As CFO-in-Residence, you will partner with founders to establish financial foundations, support fundraising, and implement operating models and pricing strategies across multiple early-stage, venture-backed startups in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive finance experience, ideally including startup leadership
• Experience with venture-backed tech startups is strongly preferred
• Strong command of financial modeling, forecasting, and SaaS metrics

Responsibilities

• Embed with 1–2 portfolio companies as a fractional Head of Finance
• Stand up or refine financial systems, budgets, forecasts, and dashboards
• Support fundraising with modeling, data room readiness, and investor Q&A
• Build scalable financial operations and cash management practices
• Lead strategic finance initiatives including pricing, cap table modeling, and international expansion planning
• Grow into permanent CFO or Head of Finance roles over time
