Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a Fractional Chief Financial Officer for an early-stage software company. The role is fully remote with a 6 to 9 month engagement, focusing on professionalizing the finance function and enabling the next growth phase.

Qualifications

• Senior finance leader with CFO/VP of Finance experience
• Experience with early-stage, venture-backed software or recurring-revenue businesses
• Strong modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-planning skills
• Experience supporting fundraising, diligence, and investor comms

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic finance advisor to executives on growth planning and resource allocation
• Build and maintain operating model, budget, forecasts, cash projections, and long-range plan
• Improve forecast accuracy with variance analysis and alignment to costs
• Prepare financial models, diligence materials, and data-room support for fundraising
• Lead board-level financial reporting and communicate performance, risks, opportunities
• Define and monitor recurring-revenue metrics and KPI tracking
• Oversee outsourced accounting and review monthly results
• Strengthen accounting processes, controls, and finance workflows for scale
