Job summary

RTX is seeking an FPGA Electrical Engineer II in McKinney, TX to design and verify FPGA-based systems for missiles, radars and EW platforms. The role covers full lifecycle support, architecture, verification, and documentation within the MPD department.

Responsibilities include coding in VHDL/Verilog, design verification, agile status reporting, and collaboration with leadership; relocation is available.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related STEM field.
• Experience with FPGA/ASIC design or verification (VHDL/Verilog).
• Hands-on experience with AMD Xilinx, Altera or Microchip (Microsemi) devices and tools.
• Experience with source code management, design reviews, and code release in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide full lifecycle support of production FPGA designs for one or more major vendors and device families.
• Generate FPGA designs for gigabit serial interfaces, RF DSP, controls, data links and embedded processing.
• Assist with architecture development of FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces and CONOPS.
• Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability.
• Support design verification using self-checking techniques with directed and constrained random tests and coverage.
• Report execution status to the planned budget and schedule using an agile framework.
• Create complete documentation including requirements, verification plan, and user guides.
• Function as an individual contributor and present work to leadership.
• Engage in professional growth and development.
