Job summary

RTX is seeking a Digital Electrical Engineer I for its McKinney, TX location to design and develop next-generation circuit card assemblies and FPGA-based solutions powering mission-critical applications. You will work with cross-functional teams in an agile environment across the full lifecycle, from architecture to production release.

The role emphasizes FPGA design, HDL coding, and hands-on hardware integration, with opportunities to grow in a structured, security-cleared environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering required by start date.
• Experience or coursework in Digital Electronics, Circuit/HDL design.
• Experience with test and measurement equipment for circuit characterization and debugging.
• Experience can come from work, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and verify digital architecture, circuit card designs, and FPGA implementations.
• Model digital algorithms, partition design functions, and write high‑reliability code for embedded processing systems.
• Perform component selection, schematic capture, circuit simulation, and collaborate on physical layout and routing.
• Integrate and validate hardware designs in a laboratory environment using advanced test instrumentation against rigorous system requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive design documentation, technical reports, and configuration management artifacts throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support engineering activities from initial customer requirement definition through formal production release.
