Job summary

SimTech, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a mid-level FPGA Design Engineer to design and test FPGA-based digital systems using Verilog/VHDL, with RFSoC experience preferred. The position requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 3-5 years of related experience, with U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required.
• 3-5 years of demonstrated experience is required.
• Xilinx RFSoC experience is preferred, and/or experience with high-speed ADCs/DACs and FPGAs.
• Strong FPGA design experience in VHDL or Verilog.
• Strong DSP background using FPGAs. Digital filter design and DDS experience required.
• Experience using PCIe, DDR Ram, multi-gigabit serial, and ethernet protocols with FPGAs and microprocessors.
• Knowledge of basic serial communication protocols, UART, I2C, SPI, 8B10B.
• Mixed signal PCB design experience.
• Proficient with the use of basic test equipment, oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers.
• U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, and test digital systems specifically regarding FPGA technology. Develop Verilog, VHDL, and HDL designs for FPGAs.
• Modify and/or design special purpose, custom RFSoC boards for real-time, hardware-in-the-loop missile integration.
• Troubleshooting and test support as needed.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
