Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Data Scientist to join the FP&A Solutions team within Finance Transformation. You will automate financial analytics, develop forecasting models, and build scalable data solutions that support faster, data-driven decision making.

The role sits at the intersection of finance, data science, and analytics engineering, collaborating with FP&A, Finance, Data Engineering, and business teams to turn complex data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, FP&A analytics, or related field.
• Advanced Python and SQL with experience in pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, statsmodels or similar.
• Strong FP&A knowledge: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Experience building statistical or machine-learning models on large datasets.
• Ability to translate analyses into actionable business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with FP&A and business leaders to identify opportunities where analytics can improve planning and decision‑making.
• Develop Python-based models, forecasting solutions, simulations, and automation for financial and operational use cases.
• Build scalable datasets and workflows using Snowflake, SQL, and Python.
• Develop predictive models for revenue, expenses, headcount, bookings, and cash flow.
• Improve forecasting with statistical modeling, driver-based forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Automate FP&A processes including data prep, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Translate model outputs into concise insights for finance and leadership.
