Job summary

Selby Jennings in Darien, CT, is seeking a finance professional to own the trader and portfolio manager compensation function. You will interpret complex compensation structures, build financial models, and deliver accurate accruals and payouts monthly, quarterly, and annually.

You will maintain compensation databases and reporting tools, partner with finance, accounting, and investment teams, support budgeting, FP&A, and year-end audits, and perform ad hoc analyses on compensation programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing, calculating, or analyzing PM/trader compensation in hedge funds or asset managers.
• Ability to translate compensation agreements into financial models and payout calculations.
• Deep understanding of investment management compensation structures and incentive plans.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling capabilities for large datasets.
• Experience leveraging and manipulating large datasets for compensation reporting.

Role Overview

The firm is seeking a finance professional to take ownership of its trader and portfolio manager compensation function. This role will be responsible for interpreting complex compensation arrangements, managing compensation calculations, maintaining compensation models, and serving as a key business partner to finance leadership and investment professionals.While the position will also support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting initiatives, the primary focus is the administration, analysis, and oversight of PM and trader compensation programs.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with finance and investment teams.
