Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN), parent company of Liberty Utilities, seeks an Analyst II in Financial Planning and Analysis to oversee the 5-year business plan, budgeting, and forecasts. You will coordinate financial data to support management decisions and ensure alignment with GAAP and IFRS standards.

The role combines analytical work with collaboration across business partners, requiring strong Excel skills and clear communication in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance, pursuing professional designation strongly preferred.
• 2-3 years of financial work experience.
• Demonstrated strong analytical capabilities and communication skills.
• Ability to establish a high level of confidence with various management personnel.
• Experience in preparation, presentation and interpretation of financial performance information, plans and reports to business management teams and/or Group Financial Control.
• Previous experience in a large global organization under GAAP and IFRS disciplines.
• Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of accounting, finance and treasury issues and related policies.
• Understanding financial methodologies, including financial analysis, return calculations, and utility/rate-based economics.
• Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage development, coordination and consolidation of all aspects of the 5-year Business Plans under GAAP and IFRS.
• Budget preparation, forecasting, cost control and performance benchmarking.
• Ensure financial functions align with corporate plans and internal controls.
• Develop financial recommendations to support design solutions impacting operations.
