Job summary

Nationwide Technical Search is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer in Anniston, AL (onsite) with relocation assistance and full benefits. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing foundry tooling for ductile iron castings, guiding the tooling lifecycle from design through casting process improvements.

The engineer will model tooling components in 3D CAD, run gating/flow simulations (Novacast/Magmasoft), and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering (or related technical field).
• 1+ years of engineering experience in a heavy manufacturing or foundry setting.
• 3+ years of tooling design experience (cast/ductile iron and waterworks/fitting products preferred).

Responsibilities

• Tooling design and process optimization for patterns, core boxes, and material handling systems.
• Project and vendor management: RFQ logs, inspection reports, ECNs, sample production runs.
