Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking a Foundry Helper to support multiple casting and furnace operations in our Oregon facility. You will assist with loading, pouring, and preparing castings and ingots, set up mold racks, and help maintain foundry tools and safety procedures.

The role requires physical effort, ability to work in a challenging environment, and on-the-job training with forklift safety certification. First shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm.

Qualifications

• Previous Foundry Helper experience preferred (LSBO).
• Able to read, write and perform arithmetic.
• Able to lift 30–50 lb, sometimes up to 120 lb.
• Team player capable of working in tough conditions.
• Work in noisy, dusty, chemical, extreme temperatures with molten metal.
• On-the-job training provided; forklift safety certification training required.
• Experience with overhead cranes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and delivers metal ingots to furnace areas.
• Cleans, inspects and weighs shells.
• Fixtures shells per Tech Cards.
• Applies exothermic, fiber insulation material to shells.
• Loads and unloads shells in burnout furnace using hand-held fork, forklift truck and overhead crane.
• Selects program on burnout controller for proper preheat cycle.
• Transports shells to air pouring areas or vacuum furnace.
• May load melting pots with metals.
• Inspects, sets up and operates MM mold racks.
• Runs conveyor system to transport shells to Master Caster furnace.
• Observes shell casting process via window and or video.
• Knocks MM ingots from molds; cleans, cuts and welds.
• Removes and transports vacuum castings.
• Puts insulating material on top of casting to maintain molten status.
• Delivers castings to cleaning or repair departments.
