Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Oregon seeks a Foundry Helper to assist furnace operators in the casting and master melt process, preparing and pouring castings or ingots, and supporting foundry tasks.

Responsibilities include inspecting ingots, shell preparation, loading/unloading shells, transporting between areas, and assisting with mold racks and pouring operations. Training provided; safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Previous Foundry Helper experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver 30–50 pounds, occasionally up to 120 pounds.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to work in challenging conditions (noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, molten metal).

Responsibilities

• Inspects and delivers metal ingots to furnace areas.
• Cleans, inspects and weighs shells.
• Loads and unloads shells in burnout furnace using a forklift.
• Transports shells to air pouring areas or vacuum furnace.
• Sets up and operates mold racks and MM mold racks.
• Knocks ingots from molds; cleans, cuts and welds ingots.
• Delivers castings to cleaning or repair departments.
• Performs minor maintenance and safety checks as assigned.
