Asama Coldwater Manufacturing (ACM) is seeking a Foundry Production Manager in Coldwater, MI to lead casting operations from melting to finishing. You’ll oversee supervisors and hourly teams, drive safety, quality, and productivity, and deliver world-class operational performance.

The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic planning to improve OEE, reduce scrap, and advance lean initiatives while ensuring cost-effective production and strong employee development.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a foundry or metal casting operation.
• Experience leading safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling.
• Track record of improving OEE and reducing scrap.
• Experience developing hourly production teams and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily and weekly production to meet customer demand.
• Supervise and develop production supervisors and hourly employees.
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Reduce scrap and improve first-pass quality.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen) and cost control.
• Partner with Maintenance and Quality to improve reliability and corrective actions.
• Manage raw material utilization and production efficiency.

What You'll Lead

You'll oversee all aspects of foundry production, including:

• Melting operations
• Molding
• Finishing operations

What You'll Do

As Foundry Production Manager, you'll lead daily operations while driving continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead daily and weekly production to meet customer demand
• Supervise and develop production supervisors and hourly employees
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
• Reduce scrap and improve first-pass quality
• Monitor production KPIs, labor efficiency, and throughput
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement
• Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence
• Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
• Collaborate with Quality to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
• Manage raw material utilization and production efficiency
• Analyze production performance and communicate results to leadership
• Previous foundry manufacturing experience
• Manufacturing leadership experience managing production teams
• Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling
• Experience improving productivity and operational performance
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
