Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions in Cold Spring, MN is hiring a Production Supervisor to lead sand molding and pouring operations on the production floor. You will drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives while coaching a team to meet delivery goals.

The role requires 3–5 years of supervisory manufacturing experience, strong foundry knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent foundry education and experience.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in a foundry.
• Strong knowledge of foundry operations, safety regulations and production processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with proven leadership.
• Experience with lean, 5S, TPM and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds; 70% production floor time.

What You'll Do as a Production Supervisor:

• Lead and direct employees in molding, pouring, and related foundry operations
• Identify, address, and eliminate workplace safety concerns while promoting a safe work environment
• Monitor production performance, quality metrics, and productivity goals to ensure operational success
• Conduct performance evaluations, coach employees, and support ongoing training and development
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, TPM, quality, cost, and delivery programs
• Manage inventory, receive material shipments, and coordinate parts and supply ordering
• Support daily production meetings, department audits, and major maintenance activities within the department

What You Need to Bring to the Production Supervisor Role:

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent foundry education and experience
• 3-5 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a foundry environment
• Strong understanding of foundry operations, safety regulations, and production processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven leadership abilities
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality systems, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement practices
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to analyze production, quality, and cost metrics
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work approximately 70% of the time in a production environment
• Forklift operation experience and ability to use electric and pneumatic hand tools preferred
