Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Mapleton, Illinois, is hiring Foundry Specialists to perform core making and related duties on the molding floor. You will handle manual and machine tasks, including dipping, inspecting, and assembling cores, and you may operate and lock out equipment to clean and reclaim sand.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to stand for long shifts. Starting pay ranges from $20.40 to $25.32 per hour, plus a $1 night-shift premium, with benefits and a total rewards

Qualifications

• One-year prior manufacturing work experience.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand throughout an 8 to 12-hour shift.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Core box mounting.
• Mixing and testing core sand.
• Bolt threading.
• Molding functions such as preparing pouring basins.
• Mold spraying, drying and/or venting.
• Operating punch-out and related equipment.
• Finishing functions such as riser breaking.
• Hand chipping and finning.
• Operating shakeouts, stand and portable grinders.
• Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles.
