Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Mapleton, Illinois is seeking a Production Associate for 2nd or 3rd shift in the Mapleton Foundry. You will perform core making tasks, prepping and inspecting cores, and handling related machine operations.

Qualifications

• One-year manufacturing work experience.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand for 8–12 hours.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Core box mounting
• Mixing and testing core sand
• Bolt threading
• Molding functions such as preparing pouring basins
• Mold spraying, drying and/or venting
• Operating punch-out and related equipment
• Finishing functions such as riser breaking
• Hand chipping and finning
• Operating shakeouts, stand and portable grinders
• Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles
