Job summary

Garage, a fast-moving NYC startup, is hiring a Founding Technical Recruiter to build Engineering, Product, and Design teams. You’ll partner with the CTO and engineering leaders to identify builders who can turn a complex marketplace into an exceptional customer experience.

This hands-on role owns searches end-to-end, builds pipelines from scratch, runs a fast, fair process, and helps Garage raise the bar with every hire.

Qualifications

• Full-cycle experience hiring technical talent for software eng, product, design and data science (≤140 chars).
• Strong network within the NYC startup talent market (≤140 chars).
• Ability to close talent with strong culture fit (≤140 chars).
• Experience using modern recruiting tools and AI assistants (≤140 chars).
• Proven ability to build scalable recruiting processes (≤140 chars).

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle hiring across engineering, product, design, and data science, partnering with founders.
• Build and execute targeted sourcing strategies using outbound, referrals, communities, and technical communities.
• Run structured, high-quality recruiting processes from screening through offer.
• Track pipeline health in Ashby and build scalable recruiting systems and playbooks.
• Help grow out the recruiting team as the company grows.
