Job summary

Waypoint Learning seeks a Special Education Manager embedded in a Bronx charter school to lead the IEP lifecycle, liaise with the CSE, and ensure compliance. You will work with teachers and families to reflect students’ needs in Waypoint and drive annual reviews with accuracy.

You’ll join a growing company piloting our AI-enabled platform to increase school capacity. This role balances operations, leadership engagement, and product feedback to evolve our tools for NY schools.

Qualifications

• Experience as SPED Coordinator in NYC with IEP lifecycle.
• Operational ownership with a track record of improving processes.
• Product-oriented mindset and willingness to provide constructive feedback on software.
• Clear, direct communication with parents, teachers, CSE chairs, and leaders.
• Genuine care for students with IEPs and the adults who support them.

Responsibilities

• CSE liaison: primary school contact with Bronx CSE.
• Own full IEP lifecycle: evaluation, meetings, annual reviews, reevaluations.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for SUNY/NYSED/NYC DOE.
• Attend school leadership meetings as the special education voice.
• Define how Waypoint supports NY schools and scale practices.
