Job summary

Verra, a company building an institutional memory layer for consulting firms, seeks a Founding Software Engineer to ship features end-to-end in New York. You will own product decisions and collaborate closely with customers, operating in-person.

Strong backend/platform engineering experience is essential, with proficiency in Python, AWS, SQL databases, and API development. Experience with LLMs, agentic frameworks, and RAG is a plus.

• You've put real software in front of real users and watched it break. We care that you've shipped something people have depended on.
• Strong backend and platform engineering experience.
• Experience with Python, AWS, SQL databases, API development.
• Experience working with LLMs, agentic frameworks, and RAG.
• You're someone who reads a customer email, figures out what they actually need, and ships the right fix - not just the literal fix they asked for. You'll be told what we're trying to accomplish, and the rest is yours.
