Pure Interactive Entertainment, Inc. is seeking a founding recruiter for our New York office to build and run how we hire. You’ll own first-round interviews, assess culture fit, and sell Pure to top candidates while establishing onboarding and benefits processes.

You’ll combine recruiting, people ops, and operations, shaping a lean, effective people function in a fast-growing startup. This role requires hands-on energy and a strategic mindset in a dynamic, in-person environment.

About the role

Pure is looking for a Founding Recruiter to build and run how we hire. You'll own first-round interviews, vet for culture, and sell Pure to great people, while also setting up the operational side of our people function: benefits, onboarding, and the systems behind them.

This role combines recruiter, people ops lead, and chief of staff. We don't expect you to be equally deep in all three areas, but you should be strong in one and comfortable in the other two.

We're growing fast, with open roles across engineering, design (motion and product), and go-to-market. Hiring well is one of the most important things we do right now.

Location: In-person only (New York office)

What you'll do

• Run first-round interviews across engineering, design, and go-to-market: screen for culture, set expectations, and sell Pure.

• Source candidates through outbound (LinkedIn, JuiceBox) and keep inbound quality high by being selective about channels.

• Manage the pipeline end to end in Ashby, including job postings, stages, and candidate communication.

• Help design and run our interview processes, such as the video screen, culture screen, technical round, and founder final.

• Represent Pure externally, including at design events and on campuses.

• Set up the people function operationally: benefits packages, onboarding structure, and HR basics.

• Partner with the founders and hiring managers on who we need to bring in next.

What we're looking for

• 2+ years recruiting, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment, across technical and non-technical roles.

• Strong judgment on people: you can screen for culture and fit, and you know how to sell a company to top candidates.

• Experience with an applicant tracking system, ideally Ashby, and with outbound sourcing on LinkedIn and tools like JuiceBox.

• Operational instincts: you can stand up benefits, onboarding, and HR basics without a playbook.

• Comfortable wearing many hats, from recruiting to office logistics.

• Polished communicator who represents Pure well at events and in conversations with candidates.

• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

• Able to work in person at our NYC office.

Nice to have

• Experience recruiting designers, motion designers, or creators.

• Experience campus or early-career recruiting.

• Experience building a recruiting function or HR basics from scratch.

• Experience as a chief of staff or in a generalist operations role.
