Job summary

Moove AV is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to own and build a brand-new autonomous mobility platform from scratch, leading hands-on development and mentoring as the system scales.

You will define architecture for cloud-native backend services, distributed systems, and AI/LLM‑driven components, partnering with product and operations to deliver reliable, scalable solutions for depot operations and fleet management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 10+ years building cloud-native backend or platform systems.
• Proven experience delivering greenfield products or internal platforms from scratch.
• Hands-on experience building distributed systems on modern cloud infra with AI/LLM components in production.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into production-ready systems.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Comfort in high-ownership, low-process, early-stage environments.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design core architecture and select technology stack for a new autonomous fleet & depot platform.
• Write foundational production code and collaborate with product/ops to translate fast-changing requirements.
• Influence platform features and architecture; lead Agentic AI and LLM best practices.
• Build agentic APIs delivering low latency, cost, reliability, and scalability.
• Design for distributed systems with reliability and maintainability from day one.
• Set engineering standards and decision-making processes for the platform.
• Onboard, mentor, and coach new team members as the platform scales.
