Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, in partnership with the Florida State University College of Medicine, seeks a Founding Program Director for the OB/GYN Residency to lead curriculum, resident well‑being, and faculty development in a high‑volume, complex clinical environment.

The PD will ensure strict adherence to ACGME requirements, oversee the CCC and ADS, and drive ongoing quality improvement, scholarly activity, and a robust educational culture across site faculty.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical institution.
• Board certification in OB/GYN by ABOG or AOBOG.
• Eligible for Florida medical licensure with hospital privileges.
• Minimum five years of OB/GYN clinical practice after residency.
• Minimum three years of faculty/educational work in an ACGME residency program.
• Leadership experience in an ACGME residency setting is highly preferred.
• Aptitude in medical education pedagogy and modern GME platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of the OB/GYN residency program across clinical sites.
• Administer an educational environment aligned with ACGME core competencies.
• Ensure accurate ADS updates and compliance with program policies.
• Design and oversee curriculum, faculty participation, and subspecialty faculty.
• Monitor resident supervision, work hours, and transitions of care.
• Lead PEC and APE activities, mentor residents in QI and scholarly work.
