Job summary

MaineHealth, Maine Medical Center in Portland, seeks an innovative physician educator to lead its Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program.

The Program Director will provide strategic and educational leadership, partnering with an Associate Program Director, program manager and faculty to strengthen resident recruitment and educational quality, while directing 50% of effort toward leadership and 50% toward clinical practice.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited OB/GYN residency.
• Board certification by ABOG or AOBOG or qualifications acceptable to the ARC.
• Experience leading residency education and recruitment initiatives.
• Ability to teach, supervise residents and fellows, and mentor faculty.
• Commitment to professionalism, educational excellence and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, educational and administrative leadership for the OB/GYN residency program.
• Lead resident recruitment, curriculum development and program evaluation.
• Oversee resident assessment, advancement and support.
• Engage faculty in teaching, mentorship and scholarship.
• Maintain program accreditation and strengthen regional/national reputation.
• Balance 50% leadership effort with clinical practice and academic appointment.
