Job summary

Invoca is seeking a Founding Head of Forward Deployed Engineering to build and lead a customer-facing engineering team embedded in our Go-to-Market motion. You will hire, coach, and guide engineers, prioritizing which deals need deep technical support and serving as the escalation point on high-stakes implementations.

You'll partner with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to align technical delivery with revenue goals, shaping processes, assets, and the product feedback loop as

Qualifications

• Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer or similar customer-facing technical role.
• Proven people leadership in a technical, customer-facing capacity.
• Ability to balance technical delivery with business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and manage a team of Forward Deployed Engineers; set the bar for what 'great' looks like.
• Prioritize deployment across the deal pipeline and determine where to apply engineering effort.
• Act as the senior escalation point on strategic deals and implementations.
• Partner with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to define integration into GTM motions.
• Build operating rhythms for PoCs, debriefs, and reusable assets; drive a repeatable process.
• Capture field feedback to shape product and engineering priorities; report team impact to leadership.
• Plan headcount and capacity; manage geographic or specialization growth; travel up to 50% on-site.
