Job summary

Gridsight seeks a founding Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with power engineers and GTM teams, shaping tooling from real-world work. You will own discovery, dogfooding, and field-product iteration, translating evidence into requirements and driving adoption across the U.S. team with hands-on coding and rapid prototyping.

The role emphasizes depth in power systems, Python/SQL, data pipelines, and a keen eye for practical, trustworthy solutions that scale with customers.

Qualifications

• Founding role in FDE, shaping early tooling and processes.
• Experience in power engineering or utilities helpful; credibility with domain experts.
• Hands-on software engineering with Python, SQL and data tooling.
• Ability to travel regularly and work across product, engineering and GTM teams.

Responsibilities

• Embed with power engineers and GTM team to map real workflows and identify high-leverage problems for tooling.
• Be the first serious user of new FDE and AI tooling on live work; test usefulness, correctness and fit.
• Translate direct evidence into clear requirements, priorities and acceptance criteria; collaborate with Product and Engineering.
• Investigate data, write Python and SQL, build prototypes and integrations, debug workflows.
