Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures is seeking a founding engineer for an early-stage AI software team building tools for leaders across public and private sectors. You will own features end-to-end across the stack and AI agent layer, and learn directly from customers.

The role requires 4+ years of software engineering experience, hands-on AI agent development, and strong Python, React, and AWS skills. On-site in San Francisco with occasional remote days. Base salary $180,000–$220,000 annually.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• Hands-on experience with a production AI agent or LLM-based system and ability to explain its purpose, design, and testing approach.
• Strong proficiency in Python, React, and AWS.
• Experience building full-stack features across databases, backend, and frontend.
• Willingness to own features and work directly with customers.
• Startup experience and familiarity with regulated sectors (fintech, government tech, healthcare) are helpful.
• Must be a U.S. citizen; visa sponsorship is not available.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain product features end to end across databases, backend services, and frontend interfaces using Python, React, and AWS.
• Develop and improve production AI agents using LangChain, LangGraph, and the Deep Agents framework.
• Rebuild and own core product experiences, including onboarding and other non-agent features.
• Join customer calls and support conversations to troubleshoot issues and understand how people use the product.
• Help establish product and engineering processes as an early team member.

What We're Looking For

• At least 4 years of software engineering experience building and delivering production systems.
• Hands-on experience building a production AI agent or LLM-based system, and the ability to explain its purpose, design, and testing approach.
• Strong proficiency in Python, React, and AWS.
• Experience building full-stack features across databases, backend, and frontend, including product surfaces beyond AI.
• Interest in broad ownership and comfort working directly with customers.
• Startup experience and familiarity with regulated sectors such as fintech, government technology, or healthcare are helpful.
• Must be a U.S. citizen. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Base salary: $180,000 to $220,000 annually.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, California, with flexibility for occasional remote days.
