HFBAC - Hiring For and Building Awesome Companies seeks a hardware engineer to transform early prototypes into alpha hardware for our first design partners. You will design 800V-class power conversion and switching systems using silicon carbide, and lead lab bring-up and debugging to validate performance.

Candidates should have at least two years taking hardware from prototype to validated system, with gate-driver design for fast-switching architectures.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience taking hardware from prototype to a validated system.
• Gate-driver design for fast-switching architectures is essential.
• EVs, EV charging, solar, or battery storage experience advantageous; on-site in Detroit; U.S. citizens and Green Card holders only.

Responsibilities

Job description

Develop early lab prototypes into alpha hardware for the company’s first design partners. Design 800V-class power conversion and switching systems using silicon carbide, simulate designs in SPICE or PLECS, and lead laboratory bring-up and debugging.

Requirements:

Candidates need at least two years of experience taking hardware from prototype to a validated system, with gate-driver design for fast-switching architectures essential. Experience in EVs, EV charging, solar, or battery storage and use of AI agents and models in engineering are advantageous; the role is on-site in Detroit and limited to U.S. citizens and Green Card holders.
