Job description
Design and prototype power conversion, switching, and distribution circuits for DC systems, including 800V-class architectures
Develop gate driver circuits for fast-switching semiconductor devices
Perform modeling and simulation across electrical, thermal, and system domains (SPICE or similar tools)
Implement protection and sensing circuitry for current, voltage, temperature, and fault conditions
Conduct iterative hardware bring-up, characterization, and validation using high-power lab equipment
Optimize PCB and mechanical layouts for switching performance, thermal reliability, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability
Collaborate with embedded and controls engineers to integrate digital control interfaces (MCUs, DSPs, FPGAs, or similar)
Design hardware supporting dynamic power routing and real-time reconfiguration
Participate in design reviews, documentation, component selection, reliability assessments, and structured test planning
Work cross-functionally with system architecture, thermal/mechanical, and infrastructure teams to ensure system-level integration
Help establish lab workflows, test procedures, and engineering best practices for high-voltage development
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience designing, prototyping, and testing power electronics systems
Strong familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, agents, model-assisted workflows)
Solid foundation in high-voltage or high-power converter topologies and semiconductor behavior
Hands-on experience with gate driver design and fast-switching architectures
Proficiency with simulation tools (SPICE, PLECS, PSIM, or similar)
Experience working with high-power and high-voltage lab equipment
Strong debugging skills across switching, timing, sensing, and protection domains
Ability to drive designs from schematic → layout → prototype → validated hardware
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
Nice to Have
Experience with medium- or high-voltage DC systems (EV, industrial, telecom, renewable energy, or data centers)
Exposure to embedded or digital control systems and real-time control architectures
Familiarity with high-current interconnects, busbars, thermal/mechanical integration, and insulation design (creepage/clearance)
Background in reliability engineering, derating analysis, safety reviews, or compliance standards
Experience setting up lab environments or building testing workflows
Prior startup, R&D, or zero-to-one hardware development experience
