Job summary

Effective AI is the founding data product company building the data layer for an insurance-focused AI platform. The role centers on owning the full data path from raw external sources to production-ready signals that agents can trust and act on, with roughly half the time spent on data infrastructure and half on product/backend engineering.

The first data hire will own core pipelines and shapes a foundational system at seed-stage, reporting to the hiring manager.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of data engineering experience.
• Built and scaled production data pipelines.
• Recent startup/AI-native experience (seed to Series D).
• CS or STEM degree from a top university.

Responsibilities

• Identify common data use cases with customers and decide which external data sources to bring onto the platform.
• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines: ingest, extract, and synthesize data from new sources.
• Expose data through product surfaces for easy agent consumption and reliable answers.
• Build and maintain evaluation harnesses to ensure data quality and agent reliability at scale.
