Hedge (YC P26) in San Francisco is hiring a founding engineer to build the AI agents and the infrastructure that scale an insurance company. You’ll turn messy submissions into automated workflows, chase missing information, and coordinate carrier requirements to move accounts toward coverage.

As a founding team member, you’ll own architecture, data models, and productionizing the platform, with broad scope to impact reliability and business outcomes.

Qualifications

• No fixed years‑of‑experience requirement.
• Strong technical depth and ability to own features end‑to‑end.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced startup.

Responsibilities

• Turn operational work into software by building systems around broker submissions and carrier workflows.
• Productionize and scale the platform; own architecture, data models, jobs, integrations, monitoring, and failure recovery.
• Put agents to work in production; extend email‑processing and information gathering to improve outcomes and reliability.
• Make messy carrier data usable by turning PDFs, emails, and API responses into consistent records of coverage and pricing.
• Connect engineering decisions to business results like turnaround, conversion and servicing efforts.
