Job summary

Recall AI is seeking a hands-on Controller to own the close, financial reporting, and ASC 606 revenue recognition for a consumption-based business. You will partner with the CFO and cross-functional teams to ensure metered usage data flows into billing and the financial statements.

Requirements include 8+ years in accounting with 3+ years in leadership, strong GAAP technical skills, and experience with modern billing platforms and ERP systems. Audit readiness and scalable controls are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ years in a controller role.
• Direct experience with consumption-based revenue and ASC 606 variable consideration.
• Hands-on with billing/metering platforms and ERP systems (NetSuite, QB Online).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end close process (monthly, quarterly, annual) with tight timelines.
• Lead revenue recognition for usage-based contracts under ASC 606.
• Validate metered usage data reconciles to billing and GL.
• Manage relationships with billing/metering platforms and ERP/GL.
• Maintain deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and revenue schedules.
• Oversee AR/AP, payroll, and GL operations; drive collections on usage invoices.
• Design and improve internal controls and accounting policies.
• Oversee annual audit with Big 4; coordinate with external auditors.
• Support FP&A for revenue forecasting; analyze usage trends; Snowflake experience helpful.
• Ensure multi-state/country tax/VAT compliance tied to usage billing.
