Job summary

Recall AI in San Francisco seeks a hands-on Controller to own close, reporting, and ASC 606 revenue recognition for a consumption-based business. You will partner with the CFO, Revenue Ops, Sales, and Engineering to ensure accurate data flow into billing, revenue, and financials.

You will lead a fast, scalable accounting function, implement strong controls, manage audits with Big 4, and contribute FP&A on usage trends and forecasts while integrating Stripe Billing and Metronome with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience and 3+ years in a Controller role.
• Direct experience with usage-based, consumption, or hybrid revenue models.
• Hands-on with Stripe Billing, Metronome, and ERP systems.
• Track record of fast, accurate month-end close in a high-growth setting.
• Experience documenting internal controls and SOX/audit readiness.
• Strong GAAP accounting skills and comfort with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Lead revenue recognition for usage-based and hybrid contracts per ASC 606.
• Validate metered usage data reconciles to billing and revenue.
• Manage billing integrations with Stripe Billing and Metronome and ERP/GL.
• Maintain deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and revenue schedules.
• Oversee AR/AP, payroll, and general ledger operations.
• Design and improve internal controls and accounting policies.
• Manage annual financial statement audits with Big 4 auditors.
• Contribute FP&A work on revenue forecasting and usage trends.
