Job summary

Devlane is seeking a Founding Staff Backend Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of a real-time 3D commerce backend. You’ll own architectural decisions and drive scalable, high-performance solutions across APIs, data pipelines, and research-friendly search infrastructure.

You will guide end-to-end system design, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to light MLOps tasks within a CV/AI environment.

Qualifications

• +5 years of experience as a software engineer focusing on backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of backend development using TypeScript (Node.js).
• Expertise with PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience managing AWS infrastructure with IaC (Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong system design, API/interface design, and data modeling.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and test suites from scratch.
• Exposure to AI/ML integration or willingness to handle light MLOps in CV/AI environment.
• Understand complex backend components like queues, data jobs, workflow engines, and search indices.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and maintenance of the core backend platform powering a real-time 3D commerce environment.
• Lead end-to-end system design across APIs, automated pipelines, workflow engines, search infrastructure, and queuing systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable, high-performance solutions.
• Support light MLOps initiatives to integrate the backend with AI technologies.
