Job summary

Davis School Chicago is launching a new college-preparatory high school in downtown Chicago and seeks an Arts Chair to lead the department from inception. You will shape the arts curriculum, cultivate a culture of professional excellence, and guide teachers in visual arts, music, theatre, and media arts.

The role combines teaching with leadership, requiring a Master’s degree and a track record of instructional leadership. A strong commitment to Jewish life and community is valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Education, Educational Leadership, Art, Music, Theatre, Arts Education, or a related field.
• Illinois Professional Educator License in the arts preferred; National Board Certification a major plus.
• 3+ years of successful arts teaching experience required; leadership experience with adults preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Arts Department and curriculum across visual arts, music, theatre, and media arts.
• Teach daily and balance teaching with department leadership.
• Build a signature, college-preparatory arts program for a new school.
• Foster professional growth, coaching, and collaboration among arts faculty.
