Davis School Chicago seeks a founding Arts Chair to lead the development of a rigorous, college-preparatory arts program across visual arts, music, theatre, and media arts. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Art, Music, Theatre, Arts Education, or a related field is required.
• Illinois Professional Educator License preferred (arts) with National Board Certification a major plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of a vertically aligned arts curriculum across visual arts, music, theatre, and media arts.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, mentor, supervise, and evaluate department faculty.
• Build a cohesive, signature arts program with interdisciplinary learning and authentic assessment.
• Lead department meetings, curriculum reviews, and professional growth initiatives.
• Support exhibitions, performances, ensembles, festivals, and community arts initiatives.
