Davis School Chicago, a proudly Jewish, college-preparatory high school opening in fall 2027 in downtown Chicago, seeks a fluent Hebrew Teacher to build a living Hebrew program for grades 9–12. Lead immersive instruction, culture integration, and real-world proficiency in a student-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Teaching Hebrew as a Second Language, Hebrew language and literature, Jewish education, second language acquisition or applied linguistics, or Israeli studies.
• Language: Native or near-native Hebrew fluency.
• Licensure: Teaching credential preferred (IL) or US/Israeli equivalents.
• Experience: 3+ years of teaching Hebrew or world-language courses.
• Experience in Jewish day or faith-based schools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach Modern Hebrew across grades 9–12 with standards-based lessons.
• Integrate Israeli culture, literature, current events, and contemporary topics.
• Differentiate instruction and utilize educational technology to engage diverse learners.
• Collaborate across disciplines to develop a vertically aligned Hebrew curriculum.
