Job summary

Awana is seeking a founding-level engineering lead in New York/remote to architect and ship production AI infrastructure. You will design asset pipelines, AI agents, metadata systems, and delivery APIs, working directly with the CEO.

You will lead 24/7 production AI agents, scale the backend for millions of assets, and optimize cloud costs while partnering with enterprise integrations across major platforms.

Qualifications

Experience with AWS Bedrock, Python, Node.js, TypeScript and AI agents.
Experience with distributed systems and OpenSearch.
Founding-level role with CEO partnership and high ownership.
Build production AI systems at large scale (millions of assets, 24/7 agents).

Responsibilities

Architect and build large-scale data pipelines for 3M+ assets
Design and operate 24/7 production AI agents for metadata generation and enrichment
Implement search, retrieval, and recommendation systems
Build enterprise delivery APIs and integration infrastructure
Create human-in-the-loop review and QA automation workflows
Optimize AWS costs and scale cloud infrastructure
