Job summary

NTT DATA's client is seeking an experienced AI Architect to lead agentic AI systems in New York City. The role focuses on owning architecture, orchestration, and the trust/autonomy boundary for autonomous agents deployed in production, not just prototypes.

The ideal candidate has 7–8 years of experience, including 3–4 years building agentic systems, and has worked at AI-native scale-ups or tech giants. Remote/onsite hybrid with a 2-year engagement and competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• 7–8 years total experience, with 3–4 years building and shipping an agentic/autonomous AI system in production.
• Direct ownership of core architecture — not a contributor on someone else’s design.
• Experience at a company like Meta, NVIDIA, AWS, or Google/Gemini (or equivalent AI-native scale‑up).
• Experience building evaluation systems that proved the agent was reliable enough to run with real autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Own agent architecture, orchestration and the trust/autonomy boundary.
• Decide when an agent acts vs. defers to a human.
• Scale multi-agent/autonomous AI systems from prototype to production.
