The role
This is a foundational individual-contributor sales role. You’ll work directly with the founders, win customers and turn what you learn into a repeatable sales approach. You’ll sell to leaders across marketing, loyalty, CRM and digital experience.
You’ll start with hands-on selling, with the opportunity to build a team around you and earn broader leadership responsibility as the business grows. The role calls for autonomy, resilience and the ability to adapt to fast change.
What you’ll own
- Create pipeline: Research and prioritize accounts, and generate opportunities through outbound, relationships and referrals. Self-sourced business is central to the role.
- Run the full sales cycle: Own discovery, demos and the business case; build relationships with champions and decision-makers; guide deals through technical evaluation, procurement and negotiation to signature.
- Align technical and commercial needs: Discuss customer data, integrations and implementation confidently. Bring in technical expertise when needed and keep stakeholders aligned.
- Build a reliable process: Improve qualification, messaging and deal strategy. Document what works, maintain a clear pipeline and provide reliable forecasts.
- Bring customer insight into Kodo: Share buyer priorities, deal obstacles and product feedback with the founders and product team.
- Help build the team over time: Contribute to hiring and coaching as we grow.
What we’re looking for
- At least 4 years of B2B SaaS closing experience, with results you can explain through quota attainment, team ranking, sales awards or equivalent evidence.
- A track record of personally sourcing and closing new business.
- Experience managing complex deals from the first conversation through commercial and technical evaluation to signature.
- Confidence discussing customer data, integrations and implementation, and the judgment to involve a technical specialist.
- Strong preparation and follow-through: you take ownership, respond to feedback and keep moving through difficult deals.
- An interest in building a sales process and eventually helping lead a team.
- Experience selling customer engagement, martech, loyalty, customer data or digital experience software is especially relevant. Experience at any particular company is not required.
